San Carlo Al Corso – A Pantheon’s imitation
The Basilica of San Carlo al Corso has two architectural peculiarities. First, the bell tower on the backside of the church is 84m high, the highest bell tower in the city. Second, the architecture of the basilica itself. The church is a beautiful example of Neoclassicism inspired by the Roman Pantheon, in particular, the dome (wide as the church's body) and the 36 columns that delimit the square.
