Santa Maria Novella’s museum – The “Green Cloister”

0
Santa Maria Novella's Museum is famous for harboring frescos of worldwide renown in its convent's cloisters. The "Green Cloister", built by Fra' Jacopo Talenti, owes its name to the dominant color in its Scenes from Genesis cycle, painted on three of its sides between 1425 and 1430 by Paolo Uccello and others. Most prominent amidst the artwork are two of Uccello's frescos: The Floodand Noah's drunkenness, both marked by a distorted use of color and perspective.
