Sorbello Palace – An 18th-century mansion
Palazzo Sorbello is a building dating back to the late 16th century. It belonged to various Perugia families (Montemelini, Oddi and Eugeni), and in 1780 was acquired by the Marquis Bourbon di Sorbello. In the hallway is an important example of wooden flooring, unique in Umbria and very rare in Italy. The rooms on the main floor, with their frescoed vaults, furnishings and eighteenth-century Murano chandeliers, contain book treasures, paintings, porcelain and fabrics. Finally, on the ground floor there is a large hall with a frescoed vault and a panoramic terrace overlooking the city and the surrounding hills.
