Statue of the Crostolo – A handsome young man

0
In front of the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà, in Piazza Camillo Prampolini, there is a statue of a handsome young man holding an amphora: this is the Crostolo, the stream that once passed through Reggio Emilia but whose course has been diverted over the years. The statue comes from the Villa Ducale in Rivalta, where it once formed part of the villa's ornamental complex, together with statues of the rivers Secchia and Panaro.
