Marquess Massimiliamo Palombara, an occultism and esotericism enthusiast, made a magic formula to transform lead into gold carved into one of the doors of his villa. This formula was created by one of his guest that later disappeared. Today, only a portion of the wall with a door and two statues of God Bes are visible near Piazza Vittorio, thanks to the excavation carried out in 1888. Until now, nobody was able to solve the mystery of the formula.
