Outstanding people such as abbot Giuseppe Parini (1729-1799) and the astronomer Giuseppe Schiapparelli (1835-1910), known for the discovery of the Martian Canals, enjoyed the panorama of Brera botanical garden from their windows. This small urban oasis is hidden behind Pinacoteca art gallery and the legend says that even the great Mozart used to walk here along the garden's paths and the 18th-century flowerbeds.
