The Church of St. Anthony Abbot – Pigs in the open air
Since 1300s, the Church of St. Anthony Abbot has been known to take care of those suffering from St. Anthony's fire using ointments made of pig fat. The pigs quickly became such important that the monks obtained a special permit from Visconti in 1416: the right to breed them free in the open air surrounding the church, with the charitable contribution of the inhabitants.
