The Non-Catholic cemetery – The grave of Gramsci and Goethe

0
Around 4000 people of all religions except Catholicism rest in peace in the Non-Catholic cemetery, surrounded by cypresses, pines and Roman walls. Famous people were also buried here, for example, the politician Antonio Gramsci, the poet Carlo Emilio Gadda, August von Goethe (son of Johann Wolfgang) and the poets Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Keats. The latter wanted these words to be carved in the gravestone: "Here lies on whose name was written on water".
