The sculpture is know for the horse looking exhausted and therefore nicknamed "El caval de brüm" ("The brüm's horse") by the Milanese people. The "brüm" is a covered carriage for two or four passengers pulled by one horse and it used to be the most popular mean of transportation in Milan during the second half of the 19th century.
