Tomb of Antenor – The legendary warrior

0
The strange canopied tomb located in this square is the legendary home of the remains of Antenor. Antenor was a warrior mentioned in the Aeneid, who is said to have fled Troy and brought his entire family here. By shooting an arrow at some birds in flight he found the exact place to settle, the place where he later founded Padua. The body lying in this square, however, does not really belong to him. Carbon testing has proved that it is in fact a Hungarian warrior who probably died between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD.
