Via di Donna Olimpia 30 – “The Opposite Window” (2003)
"La finestra di fronte" is a 2003 film directed by Ferzan Özpetek that tells the story of Giovanna (Giovanna Mezzogiorno), married to Filippo (Filippo Nigro) and mother of two children, who is dissatisfied with her life. She doesn't like her job as a bookkeeper in a poultry shop, is often in crisis with her husband who goes from one precarious job to another and, dreaming of a better life, secretly spies on Lorenzo (Raoul Bova), the neighbour who lives in the building opposite. Giovanna and Filippo's house in the film is in the A.T.E.R. (ex Istituto Case Popolari) block of flats in Via di Donna Olimpia 30, Rome: these are the buildings that Pasolini called "i Grattacieli" in his film Ragazzi di vita, also used in "Fantozzi" as the home of accountant Ugo.
