"Compagni di scuola" (Schoolmates) is a 1988 Italian film directed by and starring Carlo Verdone. The film tells the story of Federica (Nancy Brilli), a charming 35-year-old woman abandoned by the rich lover who had supported her for years, who decides to organise a reunion with her former high school friends in a beautiful villa fifteen years after graduation. The reunion, however, takes a melancholic turn from the start: many of her former classmates reveal their frustrations and the failures that life has reserved for them up to that point. Speaking of locations, the famous villa in the film is none other than one of the many villas for receptions on the Appia Antica, namely Villa Quintili.
