Visconti Castle – The Risorgimento Museum

0
The Museum of the Italian Risorgimento, now part of the Civic Museums, located in the Visconti Castle, boasts an exhibition that, while keeping the political and military events as central, places them in a broader historical, social, cultural and economic context, referring to the local area. The itinerary is divided into three large rooms, with in-depth thematic studies. After a mention of Habsburg domination, the first room is dedicated to the French years and the Lombardy-Venetia Kingdom. The second room is entirely dedicated to the Cairoli family, with a reconstruction of the drawing room, where the more personal, familiar and intimate dimension alternated with the political one. After dealing with the myth of Garibaldi, the tour ends with the memory of some characters: Benedetto Cairoli, Urbano Pavesi and Tullio Brugnatelli.
