Water Museum – The ancient spoils system

0
The Water Museum occupies the three floors, two of which date back to the 18th century and the third to the 19th century, above the Fonte di Pescaia, and allows visitors to get to know and appreciate one of the most extraordinary achievements in the history of Siena: the system of bottini, fountains and artefacts that brought water to the city. The museum itinerary has been designed with a multimedia approach; that is, the visitor is immersed in the story of the spoils and sources through films, narrations and objects that make the visit particularly involving and enjoyable. The audio documentation also includes the testimonies of the city's elders, which help us understand how much of the history, the structure of the city and the memory of the Sienese are linked to the water system hidden underground.
